Ice Fest brings a ‘heat wave’ to Yorkville

The 9th annual Ice Fest winter festival took over the streets of Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood with an ice sculpture carving contest and maple taffy treats. It was a beautiful sunny day and despite this year’s theme of ‘heat wave’ the ice remained frozen solid.

7th Annual Icefest and Ice Carving Competition

This weekend the Bloor Yorkville neighbourhood hosted their 7th annual Icefest. Ice carving competitors used chainsaws and chisels to sculpt out this year’s theme of ‘Winter Wilderness’. You could have your photo taken on a sculpted, life-sized snow mobile or check out the winter cabin scene made out of 30,000 pounds of ice.
