Signing off at Honest Ed’s

It was organized chaos Monday as thousands lined the block around Honest Ed’s with the hope of procuring some of the store’s iconic hand-painted signs. Those brave enough to diligently wait the unending amount of time it took to get inside were rewarded with a little bit of Toronto history. Honest Ed’s sign painters Dougie Kerr and Wayne Reuben were on hand to authenticate and autograph everything from ‘Panties’ signs to ‘Roasted/Salted Beaver Peanuts’ (which this photographer came home with). Money raised from the sale is being donated to Victim Services Toronto.
