Torontonians donned red squares and took up pots and pans in solidarity with the Quebec student strike against tuition fee increases and Bill 78. The famous cacerolazo protest was started in Spanish speaking countries like Argentina and Chile and involves banging on kitchen implements to draw attention to public concerns. The family friendly event draws people out of their houses to participate in the clanging, rhythmic demonstration and takes place in Toronto every Wednesday evening in neighbourhoods all over the city.
